“Our toughest gig” our musical director was heard to say. A small group of enthusiastic singers assembled in the hallway of a local Nursing home. Was it co-incidence that we were billed as Dr. Tim’s friends? After some judicious shuffling of parts the motley crew sang their way through classic carols. The captive and attentive audience finely tuned their aids and some even joined in. Coronation Street was forgotten as Ding Dong Merrily on High rang out. Unlike last year there was no heckling – is this another sign of improvement in the choir?
Having survived this critical audience the locals at the Pub were a doddle. The choir and audience were well lubricated and the Yorkshire version of While Shepherds in particular went down very well. The locals joined in heartily with the carols with some even knew some of the words. This was a good way to end a busy term.
